Several homes had to be evacuated after a fire in a ground floor flat left six people in hospital suffering from smoke inhalation
Police are investigating following the fire at Whitehouse Loan, Gorebridge at around 5.45am last Saturday (September 23).
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and homes were evacuated before the fire was put out.
A number of people were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and are expected to make a full recovery. Four fire appliances attended and two adults and a child were given fire survival guidance before being led to safety by firefighters.
Investigations are continuing into the full circumstances and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
