A “POSITIVE” meeting concerning flooding issues in Mayfield was held last week.
Midlothian Council officials and Councillor Lisa Beattie (SNP) met with Scottish Water to discuss the local problem which came to a head last October when flood water containing the potentially deadly E.coli bug was found in Lawfield Primary School’s playground following flooding from a neighbouring field.
Those living in nearby streets have also spoken of flooding whenever there is heavy rain.
Robert Hogg, chair of Mayfield and Easthouses Community Council was at the meeting. He told the Advertiser that he is hopeful work will begin soon to stop local flooding, particularly at Lawfield.
