This evening, at east London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, leading lights from the worlds of sport, music and entertainment will gather to see how more athletes and celebrities can inspire us to hand over our cash.

Top of the bill is Michael Crawford, who will reprise his 1970s role as calamity-prone Frank Spencer.

Athletics: World Indoor Champs (BBC One, 1pm)

Action includes the men’s 60m final. Also on track is the women’s 60m hurdles final and the conclusion of the women’s pentathlon.
