Gallery bags royal bracelet
A UNIQUE bracelet gifted by Queen Victoria to mark the engagement of her daughter at Balmoral has been sold at a city auction.
The gift was presented to the Queen’s Lady of the Bedchamber to celebrate the engagement of Princess Louise in 1870.
The royal jewel went under the hammer at Bonhams in Queen Street yesterday, and will stay in Scotland after Aberdeen Art Gallery won the bidding war. Gallery boss, Christine Rew, said: “We’re delighted to be able to add this to our collection.”
