Get snapping Midlothian’s nature

An award-winning Midlothian museum is launching a free nature photography competition.

To celebrate all that the county has to offer during the Year of Natural Scotland, the National Mining Museum Scotland is introducing a competition for amateur photographers over four categories: Natural Landscapes, Heritage Landscapes, Flora and Fauna and Junior (16 and under).

The top three winners in each category will receive awards and their images will be featured in the museum’s 2015 calendar.

The closing date for entries is September 30 and the winners and shortlisted photographs will be showcased in a special exhibition at the museum from early November.
