A GOREBRIDGE youngster has provided a seasonal gift to patients waiting for organ donations.
Nine-year-old Jack Fortune was so impressed with the treatment given to his gran, Sheona Fortune, that he designed a special Christmas card to urge more people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
Sheona, from Dalkeith, received her kidney transplant in 2005 after six years with acute kidney failure.
She said: “Jack is such a special wee boy and I really struggled when he was born not being able to do all the things I would want to do as a gran as I was so ill.
“I was just too ill to be properly involved in the first few years of his life. I was unable to pick him up or play with him – it broke my heart.”
