A LOANHEAD firm continues to be at the forefront of green business practices.

EAE Limited scooped the award for Scotland’s Best Green SME at the Scottish Green Awards in recognition of its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

Over the last 14 years, the company, based at Edgefield Industrial Estate, has introduced sustainable business methods. An extensive environmental audit was commissioned in 2005, which identified that its carbon footprint was more than 30 tonnes per annum.

Since this review, the company, which distributes arts and tourism leaflets, has sought to decrease and neutralise its footprint.

EAE was praised by the judges for reducing its carbon footprint by 60 per cent through a range of staff driven initiatives including the introduction of Scotland’s first electric leaflet delivery van.
