Gorebridge apprentice scoops award

A COUNCIL road worker from Gorebridge has won a top award at college.

Michael Galloway (27) took the title of Road Maintenance Apprentice of the Year at Telford College in Edinburgh.

A former delivery driver for Tesco, he has worked as an apprentice with Midlothian Council for two years.

His apprenticeship included 13 one-week study blocks in road building, supervised training and gaining a recognised SVQ 2 qualification.
