CONTROVERSIAL traffic restrictions are to be implemented in Gorebridge.
Residents of New Hunterfield had been split over the issue of double yellow lines on the main road.
Some residents wanted double yellow lines along the length of the road to improve visibility for those using driveways and improve safety around traffic islands.
But others objected to such plans, raising fears that removing parked cars from the road would result in an increase in traffic speed and cause safety issues.
A compromise was suggested by transportation officers, which offered waiting restrictions opposite two traffic islands and at the junction of New Hunterfield and Greenhall Crescent.
