Green Deal benefitting Edinburgh homes and businesses

Hundreds of home and business owners in the Capital have booked assessments as part of the government’s flagship Green Deal campaign, it has been revealed.

The Green Deal allows payment for eco-friendly, energy-saving improvements, such as loft or cavity wall insulation, heating, draught proofing, double glazing and renewable energy technologies, through savings on their fuel bills.

Paul Greaves, managing director of Firstcall Home Assist, a heating and energy company which carries out Green Deal assessments, said: “Fuel poverty is a growing problem in Scotland and is something we want to help solve. Installing the Green Deal means that home and business owners can heat their properties efficiently and save money through their electricity bills, something we want to help customers do.”
