Green fund leafs through city project bids

ENVIRONMENTAL projects looking to improve their green spaces are set for a funding boost.

The Central Scotland Green Network’s Community Projects Fund is handing out one-off grants of up to £2000, which are aimed at encouraging work to increase community use of green space.

Keith Geddes, chair of the Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) Partnership Board, said: “The CSGN Community Projects Fund was launched last year and, following an extremely positive response, we are pleased to be able to provide further green funding for environmental community projects in Edinburgh.

“The available funding could be used to create new woodlands, maintain or enhance existing greenspaces.”

Last year, 63 projects across the CSGN area shared the £57,000 fund.

Application forms for grants should be handed in by midday on Friday, November 2.
