Green light for Dalkeith Bypass services

A NEW petrol station, shop and cafe are to be built off the Dalkeith Bypass.

Midlothian Council’s planning committee last week approved the application in principle for a petrol filling station incorporating 10 bays (eight car bays and two HGV bays) and a retail kiosk, along with a restaurant/cafe, including a drive-through facility and internal eating area.

The 3.64 hectare site at Fordel Junction, on the north side of the A68 Dalkeith Bypass around two miles south east of Dalkeith, will also feature a “marker” building to easily identify the facility to travellers along the A68 and A6106.
