The headteacher of Dalkeith High is heading for pastures new after spending three-and-a-half “enjoyable” years at the school.
Colin Gerrie, who will soon take over the reins at Musselburgh Grammar School, told the Advertiser that he was sad to be leaving but excited about a fresh challenge.
He said: “I’ll be leaving with a heavy heart but you can’t pick and choose when opportunities come up and I am already looking forward to the challenge of working at a bigger school. We have achieved a lot as a school and that has been down to the outstanding quality of teaching and learning by staff, and the work ethic of the pupils. There has also been a fantastic openness to change, which has been a factor in improving exam results.”
