When it comes to health and wellbeing, fresh vegetables are the way to grow - and plans are afoot to help residents in Gorebridge and Mayfield produce their own.
Through to Midlothian Voluntary Action’s Garden Grub Project - which has just received a £9412 cash boost from the Big Lottery Fund - participants will be provided with an area to tend their own produce.
At the end of the course, the group will be given a short cooking demonstration showing them how to use their greens in a delicious, healthy meal.
The lottery grant will cover the cost of a project manager, gardening teacher, course materials, marketing, food, seeds and plants and tools.
