A MIDLOTHIAN store has added its backing to a local group helping to save lives.
Asda at Loanhead has donated £50 through its Community Life Programme to Roslin and Bilston Community First Responders.
The group offers assistance to the Scottish Ambulance Service by attending appropriate 999 calls within Roslin and Bilston.
It is staffed by volunteers, living or working within the local area.
The Community First Responders’ spokeswoman, Jean Bassindale, said: “Asda has decided to nominate us as one of the charities for community support this month, and shoppers are being asked to put green tokens in one of the three boxes at the entrance to the store. We are hoping for lots of support as the award would be used to purchase a CPR monitor, which assists us in giving the ultimate quality of resuscitation technique.”
