Helping to make a difference

This week (May 12-18) is Local Newspaper Week, which celebrates the achievements of those who make a difference in our local communities.

Be it by The Advertiser, local groups or individuals, this is the time to recognise people’s contribution.

Making a difference

As part of Local Newspaper Week, The Advertiser has met up with the Volunteer Centre Midlothian, which has been promoting its Beadazzling - Get Ready for Retail Project.

We also want to celebrate others in our community who are also working hard to make a difference.

And that’s where you come in – we’re looking for suggestions of individuals or groups who do just that.

It could be someone at your school, workplace, neighbourhood or a community group that offers that extra special something.

We’re particularly keen to see videos of your nominations in action, they don’t need to be more than around 30 seconds - so send footage, here.

Even if you don’t have video to send, we’d still love to hear about people who are making a difference to you - let us know here

We’ll publish the best ones - and we’ve teamed up with Frankie & Benny’s to offer a £50 vip voucher for the best one. Deadline for entries is May 18, 2014.
