High-value thefts from homes

Police in Midlothian are appealing for witnesses following two high-value thefts from homes.

Sometime between 6pm on Sunday 23rd and 6.30am on Monday 24th October a house in Beveridge Avenue, Mayfield, was entered and keys to a blue Vauxhall Adam car were taken from inside.

The vehicle was subsequently stolen from outside.

A second incident was reported at a property in Old Dalmore Gardens in Penicuik and is believed to have taken place between 6pm and 6.50pm on Sunday 23rd October, a number of electrical goods were stolen along with a white Volkswagen Tiguan.

Inquiries are ongoing into both incidents and anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay from Penicuik Police Station said: “The victims from both of these offences have been left extremely distressed after entry was gained to their homes and high-value items including their cars were then stolen.

“We are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to trace those responsible and anyone who saw any suspicious activity within Beveridge Avenue, or Old Dalmore Gardens should contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who believes they have seen these vehicles, or who has information relevant to this investigation, is also asked to get in touch.”
