Loanhead Gala reaches another historic milestone this year with the crowning of the town’s 100th Queen.
Although, the festival celebrated its centenary in 2003, there was no Queen crowned in 1903 or in certain years during both World Wars.
As part of the special celebrations this year, the gala committee wants as many former Queens, Heralds and Crowning Ladies as possible to able to attend as guests on Saturday, June 23.
They will attend the crowning ceremony, take part in the procession in an open top bus and have the official lunch with this year’s Queen and court.
Invitations have been issued to all those that the gala committee currently has contact details but, the organisers are keen to track down a number of principals.
