Millerhill residents are being warned that groundworks currently under way are set to become “more intense”.
The small community is now a focal point for companies Network Rail and Alauna Renewable Energy (ARE), which have undertaken major projects in the area.
While Network Rail has been busy filling in mine shaft ‘voids’ ahead of the laying of the Borders Rail track, ARE has begun work on a food waste treatment facility.
Craig Bowman, Communications Manager at Network Rail Scotland, said: “The works currently under way are advance works. They are fairly extensive due to the widespread mining in that location.”
