SENIOR citizens in Midlothian are being encouraged to keep in touch and improve their social life.
The Community Links Project for over-65s will be available for a chat at the Open House Cafe – hosted by Penicuik Community Development Trust – at Penicuik Town Hall on Saturday from 10am to 1.45pm.
Community Links aims to improve the wellbeing of older people by providing opportunities for them to be active in their local communities with the help and support of volunteers.
If you or someone you know over-65 has lost some social contacts and would like to have something enjoyable to do, have a chat, go outdoors or have a skill or a hobby that you would like to share with someone else, please come along. Staff from the project would like to meet you.
The Open House cafe is very friendly has inexpensive tea, coffee, juice, delicious home baking and soup on sale and there are plenty of tables where you can sit and have a chat. It is fully wheelchair accessible.
For more information about the project, call 0131 660 1216 and ask for Angela or Faye.
