The ‘Da Vinci Code’ rapist Robert Greens has been jailed for breaking the terms of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
Imprisoned for 12 months on February 27, Greens was jailed for a further year at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on March 4.
The 35-year-old was sentenced after breaking the terms of a SOPO in October 2012.
The court heard how Greens – who was jailed in 2005 for raping a Dutch student – was made the subject of a SOPO because police feared he was going to commit another sexual assault.
By monitoring his movements, the order attempted to prevent the sex attacker, who was paroled early from a 10-year jail stretch in January 2012, from entering Penicuik. But Greens failed to obey the terms of the order and was arrested after being spotted riding a bike near a Tesco store in the town on October 24.
