Jam night announces line-up for the month

Among those performing at the West End Jam at the Ghillie Dhu, on Rutland Place, will be city blues singer Leona Rae.

Organisers said there were still places available for others to perform at the event next Thursday night, which is the best-attended evening of its kind in the Capital.

Distinguished musicians Chris Agnew, Ashley MacMillan and Sandy Tweeddale will provide much of the backing on the night.

Organiser Norval Barclay added: “What better way to kick off a year of jamming than with the amazing Leona Rae?

“To say this girl can sing is like saying Anna Pavlova could dance. You don’t come across voices like this every day and this is your chance to catch her singing with the fantastic house band.”
