Keeping Midlothian elderly in touch

A NEW Midlothian service has been launched to help older people become more connected within the local community.

The RealLiving project, run by LinkLiving, was awarded £34,500 by the Midlothian Change Fund to establish the service.

The project aims to reduce social isolation in older people by recruiting and supporting individuals to become volunteers who can then be matched with an older person, to go shopping go for a coffee, support the person to attend a social group or help the older person with some simple practical tasks.
