Act with honour

Clearly there has been a lack of procedures and systems within Midlothian Council resulting in a £140K fine being issued by the Information Commissioner (previously the Data Protection Registar).

With a significant impact on the council’s reputation, it is of particular concern that lessons of the past have not been acted upon.

In 2007, Councillor Molloy did the honourable thing and resigned. Who is going to act with honour and integrity now?

And can we be assured that the systemic failures that led to this fine have not percolated throughout all sectors in the council? It is time for action and leadership to restore some credibility to our council.
