Thornton Hibs were the visitors to the Newbattle Complex last Saturday in the first round of the Conservatory Converters Cup.
Easthouses Lily kicked the game off and had the better of the opening period, creating goal scoring chances from good open play.
However the Lily fell behind in the 35th minute when Thornton scored direct from a free-kick from 20 yards out by Gary Thomson.
But Easthouses got the equaliser in the 43rd minute from a Paul McDermott cross.
The ball fell to Steven Ferguson and he made no mistake firing it into the roof of the net from eight yards out to make the tie level at 1-1 at half-time .
The second half started as the first had finished with the Lily gaining the upper hand and they got a deserved 2-1 lead in the 53rd minute from another pin perfect through ball by Paul McDermot.
He again found Steven Ferguson who slotted the ball into the Thornton net.
Back came Thornton, however, and in the 58th minute they got the equaliser at 2-2 when the Lily failed to clear their lines and the ball ended up in the net through Raymond Chrichton.
At this stage Thornton started to take a grip on the match and got goal number three, Gary Thomson getting his second of the game in the 69th minute.
Thornton got goal number four breaking away from Lily attack who were pushing for an equaliser.
Gary Thomson got his hat-trick firing in from 18 yards out to send the Fifers into the next round of the cup.
