Loanhead late licence thumbs up

A soon-to-be opened Loanhead restaurant has been allowed to sell alcohol until the small hours, despite concerns from residents.

Applicant Matin Khan aims to open a new Indian eatery at Clerk Street, Loanhead, at the pub formally know as Gaffers.

The bid, put before Midlothian Licensing Board, attracted a letter of representation from Loanhead and District Community Council.

Mr Khan, who also owns Itihaas in Dalkeith, wished to remain open until 1am and have on and off sales on a Sunday from 11.30am.
