Loanhead veterinary surgeon Iain Butt retires this weekend after more than 30 years caring for the health and welfare of animals in Midlothian.
Mr Butt (62) will say farewell at an open day at his Fountain Place practice on Sunday from noon to 4pm.
“I will miss the banter with the staff here and the satisfaction of seeing animals getting better when you treat them,” he said.
A graduate of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Mr Butt worked in Somerset and at the Bush Estate before setting up a vet’s practice in Fountain Place, Loanhead, in 1982. For a while he had a practice in Roslin.
