Lotto boost for day care club
WooDBurN Day Care Club is set to expand its activities after the Big Lottery announced a £261,858, five-year grant to parent organisation Midlothian Voluntary Action.
The club, which provides help for vulnerable and isolated older people, can now offer more places at the day care service and extend support through home visits and morning telephone calls.
The aim is to help people keep their independence while improving their social lives.
Carers will be supported with respite breaks and peer sessions.
