THE mother of convicted killer Luke Mitchell has vowed to continue to fight to prove his innocence, despite another appeal knockback.
Reacting to the dismissal of his latest appeal, Corrine Mitchell told the Advertiser: “It’s not over yet, not by a long chalk. The next step is the Supreme Court.”
The Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh last week dismissed an application to lodge a fresh ground of appeal against his conviction for the 2003 murder of Easthouses teenager Jodi Jones, based on last year’s controversial Cadder decision in the Supreme Court in London.
Ms Mitchell said: “The way Luke’s case goes we have come to expect it. Obviously he is not a happy bunny but he was told to expect another knockback. We never get our hopes up.”
