The alleged attack took place in the early hours of Sunday morning last week outside Envi Night Club, Hopetoun Street, Bathgate, when doormen and customers of the club were sprayed with an unknown substance. The incident followed the man being earlier refused entrance to the club

Sergeant Keith Bendall said: “This was a cowardly and unprovoked assault, which was also racially aggravated, and I commend those officers for their diligence in quicky identifying and bringing before the courts those responsible.”

Area Commander Chief Inspector Cameron said: “We have an excellent working relationship with our partners in the licensed trade, and this attack on security staff - who were simply doing their job to ensure patrons had a safe and enjoyable night out - is totally unnacceptable.

“I am delighted we have been able to arrest those responsible so quickly. West Lothian is an excellent place for people to live, work and socialise, and I am determined to keep it that way.”
