Man in hospital after street attack

A man has been treated for a head injury after a serious assault in Edinburgh early on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 1am outside Ritz bar and Grill, on Lochside Place, when a disturbance broke out as the bar was closing.

A 23-year-old man was seriously assaulted during this disturbance and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated for a head injury.

Police are particularly keen to speak to three people who were involved in the disturbance.

The first suspect is described as a white male, who is in his early 20s, 5ft 9in tall, slightly chubby build, medium length blonde or brown hair in a quiff, and wearing tan chinos.

The second suspect is described as a white female who is early 20s in age, 5ft 4in tall, wearing a pink dress.

The third man is described as a white man is in his early 20s, 5ft 7in tall, shaved hair at sides and wearing a red and white top

Police are now appealing for anyone who was within the bar at the time of the incident to contact police immediately.

Detective Constable Joyce Gunderson said: “We know that the suspects were within the Ritz bar prior to the serious assault and we are appealing for anyone who was within the bar, or who witnessed this assault, to contact police.”
