Man wins case against BA

A man has won a small claims case against British Airways after he missed a flight because it was overbooked.

David Campbell, a marine energy expert, was due to fly from Edinburgh to London on March 24 and on to Santiago in Chile in March 2010, as part of a visit by Scottish Development.

But due to a mix-up which meant there were no free seats he missed the flight to London, and his connection, and had to pay for new flights himself.

In a judgment on Friday, Sheriff William Holligan said BA should pay Mr Campbell £1415.39.
