Marvel’s Agents of Shield (Friday, March 14, Channel 4, 8pm)
What’s It All About? Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his band of eclectic colleagues are back after their mid-series break.
Fans of the Marvel saga are hoping they get some closure on what happened to the chief agent during his ‘fatal’ run-in with Loki in Avengers Assemble.
Up until now, the series has existed in a story-of-the-week-type format, but things change as Coulson is grilled by the Centipede group. However, this revelation may come at a cost.
Look Out For: Saffron Burrows reprising her role as shady agent Victoria Hand, a character who made her comics debut in 2008. In a future episode, Jamie Alexander, aka Lady Sif from the Thor movies, will also guest star.
And look out for any sudden deaths. Show-runner Joss Whedon is notorious for killing off popular characters in Buffy and Firefly spin-off Serenity, so let’s hope agents live long enough to see the dawn of series two.
Iain De Caestecker, aka Leo, says: “The show was very episodic when we started off, and then as the story goes on we’re getting more into a throughline with characters. Then there’s some really exciting stuff coming up.”
