One of Midlothian’s leading tourist attractions is to purchase a life-saving defibrillator.

Rosslyn Chapel, made famous the world over by Dan Brown’s thriller The Da Vinci Code, attracts more than 120,000 visitors a year.

Chapel trustee Ian Gardner told the Advertiser he had been approached by Jean Bassindale, co-ordinator of the Roslin and Bilston Community First Responders.

“We were really impressed by the work of the First Responders.

“They have suggested, because of the number of people coming here, it would make sense to have a defibrillator and I think it is absolutely right,” said Mr Gardner.
