A RUNNING relay with a difference will take place around Midlothian next week.
Nine fit individuals are carrying a hefty 200lb telegraph pole on a seven-mile run to raise funds for Saltersgate School, which provides education for primary and secondary pupils with additional learning needs.
The pole run is being led by Craig Robinson, whose son, Nathan (10), attends the school.
He said: “We want to raise money to buy special wheelchairs, which cost between £4000 and £7000.
“It would be nice to get a couple for the school and allow kids to have greater mobility. Nathan has a chromosome deficiency and they’ve been brilliant with him.”
