Eskbank resident Craig McLaren is ready to go the extra distance to help his son walk.
The 47-year-old, of 9 Dalhousie Crescent, acts as a carer to eight-year-old Ross, who suffers from Central Core Myopathy - a disease which affects the muscles in his legs.
Mostly confined to a wheelchair, the youngster is only able to walk for brief periods of time using large, uncomfortable callipers which support his legs.
Currently undergoing aggressive physiotherapy treatment three times a week, doctors are certain that if he does not find his feet by puberty, he never will.
