Midlothian festival celebrates science

AN EXPERIMENT to increase Midlothian’s stock of science books has blossomed into a new festival.

Midlothian Science Festival will take place from October 13-21 at locations around the county, including local libraries and the National Mining Museum Scotland.

The events include stunt scientist Dr Bunhead and author talks from Stephen Blackmore, regius keeper of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, and Andrew Crumey, Scottish novelist and ex-literary editor of The Scotsman.
