Midlothian MSP files complaint over poll leaflets

Midlothian’s SNP MSP is threatening to go to the the Electoral Commission, claiming that the Labour Party has broken election rules with its leaflets.

Colin Beattie wants all election leaflets featuring council-owned images to be destroyed. The Labour Party denies any wrong doing.

Mr Beattie has complained to the council’s returning officer Kenneth Lawrie about the “systematic abuse of council copyright, premises, and resources”.
