A final push is being made to get everyone voting for Midlothian’s Beadazzling project.
The Get Ready for Retail initiative will be featured on the People’s Lottery programme on Monday evening.
Alongside Camphill Blair Drummond, the Volunteer Centre Midlothian will be seeking to attract as many votes as possible to secure £45,000 in lottery cash. The project with the most votes wins.
Beadazzling is a year-long initiative to train 15 to 19 year-olds in retail skills. They will open up their own pop-up jewellery shop in Dalkeith.
The retail project has been chosen as steps have to be taken to tackle Midlothian’s poor record of school-leavers moving into “negative destinations”.
