Midlothian rockers hope to click with new single

Flying the flag for Midlothian on the Scottish music scene, alternative rockers Aperture are ready to take on the world with a “phenomenal” new guitarist on board.

Loanhead singer Lisa McGlynn and bassist Gareth Noble, from Mayfield, were gushing in their praise for occasional ‘session’ man John McRitchie when I interviewed them a few weeks ago.

Disappointed that he was not able to join them full time, the pair, who play alongside Edinburgh drummer Lachlan McIntosh, spoke of their frustration.

“We are waiting for that crucial fourth element,” Lisa said at the time. “We would have loved it to be John, but that is looking unlikely.”

Fast forward five weeks, and I am delighted to announce that John has been talked round.
