Midlothian store unveils plans to expand

A MAJOR Midlothian employer is planning to extend its business.

IKEA Properties Investments has lodged a planning application with the council to redevelop the vacant Lynx parcel delivery warehouse at Pentland Industrial Estate.

IKEA, which opened its first Scottish store at nearby Costkea Way, plans to use the premises as a merchanise pick-up facility for IKEA UK home furnishings.

Linton Scarborough, IKEA Edinburgh’s store manager, told the Advertiser: “As part of our commitment to giving our customers the best possible shopping experience, we are looking at ways to create additional space to help us maintain stock of our most popular items of furniture.”
