Pupils and staff at a school nursery had a lucky escape as last week’s storms brought down ceiling tiles in their classroom.
As gale force winds battered Midlothian on Thursday, youngsters from Roslin Primary School escaped injury when ceiling tiles came down in the nursery room.
The council’s education spokesman Peter Boyes (Lab) said: “During the severe weather...at around 11.20am on Thursday an area of approximately 60cm by 360cm fell to the ground due to the high winds. Thankfully, no pupils or teachers were injured.
“The two adults and 18 pupils were in another area of the room when the ceiling was damaged.”
There was no damage to the rest of the building.
