The merger of Jewel & Esk College with Edinburgh’s Telford and Stevenson colleges has moved a step closer.
The business case for the new college was agreed by the Boards of each of the three colleges last week.
They have also agreed the rationale set out for the new college, along with the academic and financial benefits that the new institution will bring.
The submission of a merger proposal document was a major step towards the college’s ‘vesting day’ on October 1.
The Scottish Government’s cabinet secretary will consult with the Scottish Funding Council on the document.
It is expected that a final decision will be made this summer.
