Morrisons appears to have taken a further step towards opening up a supermarket in Dalkeith.
The supermarket giant is continuing to express an interest in taking over the site of the former First Bus depot, and efforts to attract the company to Midlothian are gathering steam.
Dalkeith councillor Alex Bennett (Lab) plans to meet company bosses in an effort to “convince” them that the land at Eskbank Road is a “prime location” for a store.
Addressing members of Dalkeith Community Council at a recent meeting in the town, councillor Bennett said that talks had taken place between Morrisons and site owner Forrest Developments.
