MP ‘disappointed’ to miss 100 jobs in 100 days target

EDINBURGH West Liberal Democrat MP Mike Crockart today amitted he was “disappointed” not to have reached his target of securing 100 jobs or training places for young people in 100 days.

However, he praised the “very positive” response from city businesses and organisations which produced 55 training places since he launched his Get Edinburgh Working initiative in May.

Among those which have agreed to take on young people are NHS Lothian and the Spire Hospital in Murrayfield. Mr Crockart said: “To have secured 55 training places with local employers is fantastic news for young people who may well have struggled to gain employment otherwise. Of course, it’s a bit disappointing not to reach the 100 target, but it was always an ambitious figure. Even though the 100 days are up I will not stop the campaign.”
