SNP Colin Beattie MSP was “delighted to have the opportunity” to visit a recent play session run by Midlothian Association of Play (MAP).
MAP has been running play session with parents via community groups they are involved in as part of the Best Play: Best Start project which aims to develop play opportunities for children aged 0-4.
Mr Beattie said “The play sessions are tremendous fun for children and parents alike and I had a great afternoon with them. My thanks go to the staff and volunteers at MAP for providing such a vital service to our local community.”
MAP ran Play in the Park sessions during the Easter holidays which were held in local parks. Parents and carers with children aged 0-4 were encouraged to play together using MAP resources that offer endless opportunities and the children enjoyed using their imaginations in their play. Around 37 families took part.
