MSPs rethink procedures
MSPS are to consider a shake-up in the way the Scottish Parliament operates.
Holyrood’s procedures committee will look at changing the current pattern of holding committee meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings, and chamber sessions on Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays. Options include chamber meetings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Committee convener Dave Thompson said: “There is a desire among members for more spontaneity and for chamber business to be more responsive to topical issues.”
