Mum wins day with Kirstie Allsopp in parent contest

TV PRESENTER and real estate guru Kirstie Allsopp is due to welcome an Edinburgh mum into her Devon home today after she won a prestigious parenting prize.

Kathryn MacKinnon was named among five regional winners of a national competition beating some stiff competition from across the Lothians.

Ms MacKinnon was selected for the award due to her creative flair in often leading rainy day activities such as baking, painting or music based on an exciting theme.

But the attentive mum not only keeps her own brood entertained but often her little boy’s friends too.

She also enjoys getting the children to experiment with potato printing and playdough as well as thinking up interesting trips to museums and parks.

As a reward for her dedication to child-friendly fun, Mrs MacKinnon will spend a day learning some of Kirstie’s favourite crafts as part of the Persil small and mighty Miracle Mums competition.

She will be taken on a tour of the domestic dynamo’s house, as well as enjoying tea, sandwiches and cake for elevenses.

Ms MacKinnon is an artist and uses her artistic background to inspire the weekly kids events that she hosts.
