Coldplay Feat. Rihanna - Princess Of China

Taken from Coldplay’s chart-topping album Mylo Xyloto, this meeting of pop demigods is a success. Diva and doyenne Rihanna has cast her rude girl attitude aside offering soulful, emphatic notes over the band’s spacey, edgy production. The Barbadian singer’s rich tones harmonise beautifully with Chris Martin’s upper register and the result is a fresh take on their stadium-filling sound.

Gotye - Eyes Wide Open

Still riding high in the top 10 with his melancholic lament Somebody That I Used To Know, Eyes Wide Open is set to a more driving pace than this phenomenal hit. Taken from the Australian artist’s Making Mirrors album, the tempo is reminiscent of U2’s Where The Streets Have No Name and late Fleetwood Mac material.

Kaiser Chiefs - On The Run

Featuring on the band’s new singles collection, Souvenir: The Singles 2004-2012, the industrial, Moog-like intro promises to pack a punch and teases a new direction for the Leeds-based band, only to revert to a bland indie pop sound.
