A special service will be held at Newbattle Parish Church today (Sunday, September 7) to mark the adding of 52 names to the church’s war memorial.
The Newtongrange church’s World War One war memorial was originally erected in 1924.

Newbattle’s minister Rev Sean Swindles said: “This will be an important service, certainly for the congregation.
“It should be quite a meaningful service but also quite low key.”
